Sponsorship
The ISCBI is a not for profit organisation and welcomes sponsorship to support meetings, for collaborative projects and as donations towards delivery of our aims. There are different packages for sponsorship of individual meetings and we are happy to discuss support for other activities and interactions. Contact glyn.stacey@iscbi.org for further information.
Events
The ISCBI runs informal workshops every year at different locations around the world and also now hosts regular on-line symposia and workshops to discuss a broad range of emerging issues and latest developments relevant to pluripotent stem cell banking. To access post-meeting information including recordings, power points and summary reports contact admin@iscbi.org
We welcome new collaborations including training activities in the broadest applications of pluripotent stem cells. Contact admin@iscbi.org or glyn.stacey@iscbi.org

The ISCBI has worked in collaboration with the Society for Low Temperature Biology to develop an on-line programme on the development of cryotechnologies for stem cell and their products. In this web-conference experts in the field of cryobiology and stem cell research will be invited to present their latest thinking on the key decision making involved in the development of stem cell preservation and storage technologies. In particular the group will consider the latest new research in the selection of cryoprotectants and also considerations in assuring long term viability in the shipment and storage of stem cells and their products.
Programme
1pm CET Welcome and introduction to session, Glyn Stacey (ISCBI, UK)
Chairs: Yuri Petrenko SLTB and University of Prague, Glyn Stacey, ISCBI
1.15pm-2.15pm
•Preservation of early stage differentiated neural hPSC-derived cells, Prof Tilo Kunath, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
•Impact of thermal transients during storage on stem cell viability. Dr Jun Okuda, National Institutes of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition (NIBN), Japan
•Shipment of stem cells for cell therapies, Prof Peter Kilbride, University of Oxford, Oxford, UK
•Cryopreservation of Stem Cells for Therapy: are we always in control?, Dr Charles Hunt, SLTB/independent, Cambridge, UK
2.15-3pm Discussion
•What are the key challenges in the development of a preservation technology for a new cell type?
•How should stem cell therapy developers approach selection of a cryoprotectant?
•What would a valuable “viability” assay look like for stem cells or their derivative products.
•How can long term viability of stem cells in storage be assured?
